KRISTIN

Birthdate: August 14, 1978

Hometown:   Austin, TX

Occupation:   Litigation Consultant for Tucker Alan.  But I’m not a lawyer!  I work on the financial side, preparing analyses for expert testimony.

Education: BS, Wake Forest University, North Carolina

Family Life:   Single, in a great relationship.  Want to have a family someday, but I’m too busy having fun now.  Have an older brother who I’m close with (he runs too) and parents that still live in Austin.

Running History:   I began running when I was in 6th grade when my dad bribed me with running shoes…little did he know what he was starting.   I did track in high school and ran a lot of 5ks, 10ks, and shorter races.  In college, I started running longer distances and started competing in longer races.  I also do triathlons—from sprint distance to half ironman.

Miles per week:   Right now (I’m in training), about 30-45 miles per week.  Usually, I just run whenever I feel like it…in between biking, swimming, and weights!

Paces:   Depends, of course…anywhere from 7:15 to 9:00, usually.

Favorite Race: Tilden Tough Ten Miler…in Tilden Park in Berkeley.  It’s a tough course—all rolling hills, no flat part, but along beautiful pastures and fields.  Keeps you in check…

Best Running Experience:   Completing my first half ironman triathlon in Sonoma County.  I had a blast throughout the race…even when my legs barely wanted to move getting off the bike!

Worst Running Experience:   Cal International Marathon last year in Sacramento…it poured rain the entire time and I wore a trash bag for 20 of the miles.

Diet:  I guess I’m lucky that I enjoy healthy foods, especially vegetables and fish…although I have HUGE cravings for all kinds of sweets!

Injuries:  None to report…I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn’t change.

Non-Running Interests:   Skiing (snow and water), biking, swimming, hiking, traveling, cooking, camping, being outdoors, and just hanging out with friends!

Who would star as you in the Hollywood story of your life?  Maybe Sandra Bullock…a fun, quirky person who seems like she’s not afraid to do her own thing.
